Anjana murder case : Accused Rathod claims he had married her

Mangaluru, June 10, 2019 : Twenty four year old Sandeep Rathod alias Sandeep Balappa Rathod from Sindagi in Vijayapura district who has been arrested in the Anjana Vasishta (22) murder case which took place at a paying guest accommodation at Attavar, has reportedly told the cops that he and Anjana had got married at the Kadri Temple  without the knowledge of their families.

 

 He was brought to the city on Sunday and produced at the residence  of the Judicial Magistrate and was later remanded to judicial custody. Police meanwhile on Sunday even took him to the  scene of the murder.

 Sandeep, it is learnt, had told the police that he came into contact with Anjana  on Facebook in July 2018 and  soon they had decided to marry. He also reportedly admitted that they were into a physical relationship and had stayed at several lodges.

He said he had committed the murder in a fit of rage as Anjana  told him to forget her and that she would marry the boy chosen for her by her family.
