Annual Feast of St Lawrence Minor Basilica concludes

Karkala, Jan 26 2018:  The annual feast of the St Lawrence Minor Basilica at Attur concluded on January 25, Thursday with a grand Eucharistic celebration presided over by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese. The theme of this year’s Festival was ‘Blessed are those who help the poor and needy’.

The Eucharistic  Mass was co-celebrated by Fr Josswi Fernandes, Dean, Karkala deanery, Fr Roshan Menezes, Episcopal Vicar for Religious, Fr George D’Souza, Rector, St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Fr Jencil Alva, Assistant Parish Priest, and other priests from the diocese.


In his homily, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo said the Believers of the God have to live as per the word of God.  Devotion to the Lord without  sympathy towards the poor and needy is of no use, he added.

 
Dr Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shivamogga Diocese,  Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Bishop of Diocese of Beltangady, Dr K A William, Bishop of Diocese of Mysuru,  Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop, of Mangaluru and Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese celebrated the Festive Mass on different days of the Festival.
