Arya Maratha Bhavan inaugurated at Jeppinamogaru

Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2017: The Arya Maratha Bhavan which has come up at Jeppinamogaru here under the aegis of the Arya yaane Maratha Samaja Sangha was inaugurated on February 19, Sunday by Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo.

DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai released a souvenir entitled ’Aayaama’ brought out on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister recalled the special service rendered towards the protection of the nation by the Maratha community which is known for its valour and is greatly inspired by  Shivaji Maharaj.

 

In his inaugural address, MLA Lobo said the ideals and philosophy of Shivaji can contribute a great deal towards peace and harmony in the society. He also informed that the state government has provided a grant of Rs 70 lakhs for the purpose of the Bhavan.

MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza announced a grant of Rs 2 lakhs from his funds while  former MLC K Monappa Bhandary said he had granted an equal amount  for the cause during his tenure.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel,  Corporators Surendra, Praveen Chandra Alva, entrepreneur Ganesh Shetty Guddeguttu, Arya yaane Maratha Samaja Sangha President  M Devoji Rav Jadhav and others were present.
