Auto driver brutally killed by long-time rival

Mangalore, December 16: A 53-year-old auto driver was brutally murdered at Neethinagar near Shaktinagar on the outskirts of Mangalore on the evening of Thursday. The murderer is suspected to be the victim’s long-time rival.

 

 

 

 

According to reliable sources, a man called Santhosh brutally murdered driver Ronald Paul by smashing his head with a huge boulder at around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reportedly, Santhosh and Paul, who had criminal records, were at logger heads for several years.

An eye witness said that the accused arrived on a bike, hurled the boulder at Ronald, who was standing near a shop, and ran away from the scene. The victim, who resides in Shaktinagar, is survived by wife and one-year-old daughter. His body was immediately rushed to Wenlock Hospital for post mortem.

Sub Inspector Prakash, who arrived at the spot, informed reporters that the accused has been absconding. The Kankanady police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
