BCF distributes scholarships to deserving Beary students

Mangalore, Aug 8: The Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF), which is based in Dubai, distributed scholarships worth Rs. 15 lakh to more than 175 students at a special programme organized at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius College on Aug 8, Sunday.

Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof T. C. Shivashankar Murthy spoke on the importance of education for the development of individuals, societies, or countries. Lauding BCF for its contributions in the field of education, he urged Beary students to utilize every opportunity that faces them in life. Mentioning the innumerable opportunities created by the government for members of the backward classes and minority communities, he called upon students to grab these opportunities for their development.

Chairman of Anjuman Group of Institutions (Bhatkal) S. M. Syed Khaleed urged the Muslim communities to pay more attention to education. Criticizing Muslim parents who hardly bother about their children’s education, he said that good Muslim parents should devote half their time to their children’s education and career.
