Bahubali’s maha mastakabhisheka held in Venoor

Mangalore, April 16, 2012 : The maha mastakabhisheka of the statue of Bahubali was held in Venoor in Belthangady on April 15 Sunday. The rituals began at 3:00 p.m.

Jain leaders, local people, and the erstwhile hereditary rulers of the place performed 1008 kalashabhishekas to the deity. Mangalore-based entrepreneur Pushparaj Jain offered the pratham kalash. Rajneesh Jain of Bangalore, Kailash Jain of Kolkata, Rajesh Jain and Rathnakar Jain, and Kanwar Sen Jain of Haryana offered the rathna kalash, suvarna kalash, rathan kalash, and kshema kalash, respectively, to the deity.

D. Veerendra Heggade, the dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, presided over the event in the presence of Shri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Kanakagiri Jain Mutt. The benedictory address was delivered by Swasti Shri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya.

Shatabha Namavali, a religious text, was released by Padmaprasad Ajila on this occasion.

Over 5000 devotees participated in this event.
