Bantwal: College student sexually harassed in bus; accused GP member arrested

Bantwal, March 28, 2025: A Gram Panchayat Member of Navoor has been arrested by the police on the charges of sexually harassing a college student who was travelling in a bus. A complaint was lodged in this connection in Bantwal Rural Police Station.

The incident took place on Thursday evening in a KSRTC bus on way to Puttur from Mangaluru. After the victim complained to the conductor, the accused tried to alight the bus and was duly caught hold of by locals at Kalladka and handed him over to the police.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad alias Monu. He is an autorickshaw driver by profession.
