Bantwal: Heavy rains, strong winds uproot trees, roofings of houses damaged

Bantwal, April 9, 2025: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds lashed several parts of Bantwal taluk on April 8, Tuesday evening. The winds uprooted trees at several places. Even banners put up for various functions fell to the ground. In some places the roof tiles of houses too suffered damage due to strong winds.

A coconut tree fell over an electric pole at Neralakatte on the Maani-Puttur National Highway affecting vehicular movement. A two-wheeler rider passing that way escaped by a hair’s breadth.
