Bantwal: Masked men barge into house, rob cash, gold at knife point

Bantwal, Jan 11, 2024: In a shocking case of robbery reported from Vagga in Bantwal, masked men who barged into a house have robbed  cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees by wielding knives at a woman and her mother living in the house, during the early hours of January 11, Thursday.

 

The theft occurred in the newly built house of Florine Pinto, in front of the Salumarada Thimmakka Tree Park at Anchikatte near Vagga. Florine and her daughter Marina reside in the house. At around 6.30 am, the occupants of the house opened the door after the calling bell rang. Four masked men who were outside barged in and demanded cash and valuables. When the women resisted, they wielded knives and took away the keys of the cupboard and looted jewellery worth Rs 2.9 lakhs, Rs 30,000 cash and a mobile phone among other things.

It is learnt, Marina suffered injuries when she tried to prevent the thieves. SP Rishyanth and other senior police officials visited the spot.
