Beltangady: Woman dies after bike skids on downhill stretch at Naluru

Beltangady, April 22, 2025: A tragic bike accident near Bokkasa in Naluru village claimed the life of a woman late Sunday night, April 21. She succumbed to her injuries the following day, Monday, April 22.

The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Pratima, a resident of Kodimajalu Eliyanadugodu in Siddakatte, Bantwal taluk.

The accident occurred as Pratima and her husband, Harish, were returning home after attending a family function in Aladangady. Their bike reportedly lost control and skidded on a downhill stretch near Goliyangady, causing the couple to fall onto the road.

While Harish sustained serious injuries, Pratima suffered a critical head injury and lost consciousness. She passed away while being rushed to the government hospital in Beltangady. Harish is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in the town.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Pratima is survived by her husband and two children.
