Bengaluru man found dead in a well near Thokkottu

Mangaluru, Dec 05, 2022: A man from Bengaluru was found dead in a well near Thokkottu on December 4, Sunday. The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.

 

The deceased is Mahantesh A S (36). He hailed from Arasikere in Hassan district but lived in Bengaluru. On November 30 he had travelled from Bengaluru to Thokkottu and had stayed at a lodge  at Kapikad adjacent to the NH 66. The same night he went out of the lodge but did not return.

On December 1 evening, the room boy had knocked on the doors of Mahantesh’s room as it was his departure time, but there was no response. However, later when  the room was opened, he was not there and a complaint was lodged at Ullal Police Station.

Even Mahantesh’s sister from Bengaluru lodged a missing complaint. Meanwhile, a decomposed body was found in a well behind the house of Abdul Samad. A housemaid who  peeped into the well following an unbearable odour found the body.

Immediately the police and fire service personnel were informed and the body was retrieved from the well.

Ullal police are investigating the case.
