Bengaluru man jumps into Netravathi river; rescued by locals

Bantwal, March 4, 2025: A man from Bengaluru who attempted suicide by jumping into the Netravathi river from Panemangalore bridge, on March 4, Tuesday has been rescued.

 

The rescued man is Shankerayya (50) from Katriguppe in Bengaluru. He, it is learnt, had come to Bantwal from Bengaluru in order to end life.

Locals who noticed him jumping into the river, immediately rushed to his help. A personal problem is reportedly the reason behind his suicide attempt.

Bantwal town police have registered a case.
