Billawas Dubai distribute scholarships among deserving students

Mangalore, Aug 22: The Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates Association organized a scholarship distribution programme for deserving Billawa students at Koragappa Memorial Hall of Shri Gokarnatha Kshetra at Kudroli on Aug 22, Sunday.

Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation Dr. Vijayaprakash expressed his appreciation of the organization for helping poor students get an education. He also spoke about the necessity of inculcating moral and social values in young people.

President of Billawas Dubai Mohan Attavar said that the association dreams of establishing an educational institution to cater to the requirements of students and informed that the association will soon form a trust.

Speaking about the association, its objectives, and its achievements, he said that Billawas Dubai has been financially assisting poor students from the past decade and also that Guru Charitable Trust is helping the association identify deserving students. He also urged the students to learn more about Billawas Dubai and the pain its takes to collect funds for scholarships.

The Best Student Award was conferred on Deekshita, Bharatesh, Shradda Suvarna, and Seema for scoring more than 95 percent marks in their examinations. Around 229 medical, engineering, nursing, technical, PG, Degree, and PUC students received a total of Rs. 7.63 lakh. In addition, Rs. 10,000 was distributed among 8 people who required medical assistance.
