The five day long Rathotsava festivities were marked by various religious rituals. On February 17, Sunday Seeyalabhisheka (Tender Coconut Abhisheka) was offered to Lord Sri Veera Venkatesha, the presiding deity. Later, under the guidance of Srimad Sudhindra Theertha Swamiji, the senior pontiff of the Kashi Mutt Samsthan, his junior seer and anointed successor of the Mutt, Srimad Samyameendra Theertha Swamiji offered various rituals including Shathakalashabhisheka, Gangabhisheka, Panchamritha Abhisheka to the Lord. Later Maha Pooja and Mahamangalarathi were held in the presence of the two seers.
Following this, a specially adorned Lord Sri Veera Vankatesha idol was taken out in a golden palanquin and placed in the chariot.
The idols was one again offered special pooja by the Kashi Mutt seer following which thousands of GSBs from across the nation and globe pulled the temple chariot at around midnight on February 17, Sunday
