CFI holds awareness rally against drug abuse

Mangalore, Feb 9, 2013 : The Campus Front of India organised a rally from Besant College  upto Lalbagh on February 9, Saturday, with the objective of creating an awareness among the student community on the ill-effects of drug abuse.

 

 

The rally aimed at sensitizing the younger generation on the grave issue in the backdrop of the recent suicide of Sneha who was addicted to drugs. The rally was also organised to prevail upon the authorities to initiative effective measures to combat the drug mafia in Mangalore.

Pointing out that a number of students in Mangalore have fallen victim to the drug mafia, the organization  said the administration has so far failed in initiating necessary steps to crackdown the forces behind this racket.

A demand was also placed to convene a meeting with student leaders and college representatives to discuss the issue.A special task force and a separate toll free number were also demanded.

Imran Thumbay, District President of Campus Front of India, State Committee Member Iqbal and several others  were present on the occasion.
