He said that when the CM announced signing MoUs, which involved crores of rupees in foreign investment, during the Global Investors’ Meet, everyone was happy. Around 1.5 lakh acres of agricultural land was acquired as a result; but while farmers were paid only Rs. 1.5 lakh per acre, the government handed over the acquired land to foreign companies for Rs. 50 lakhs to Rs. 1 crore per acre, he informed.

Urging the enlightened citizens of the twin districts to get rid of Yeddyurappa and his party, Mr. Parameshwar predicted that the government will collapse in just 3 months and that the state will witness another assembly election in just 6 months.

He also said that the Congress will make the GP’s approval mandatory for the acquisition of agricultural land for industrial purposes.

Motamma, the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, said that the state government has not released any funds for GPs, adding that even watermen’s salaries in GPs have not been paid for months. Only the NREGA, the flagship programme of the Congress-led UPA government, have kept GPs alive in the state, she declared.
