CPI(M) urges Pejawar seer to join stir against Made Snana, Pankthi Bedha

Mangalore, Jan 8,2013 : The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt to support the organizations which were protesting against Made Snana and Pankthi Bedha rituals.

 

Speaking to reporters here on January 7, Monday, CPI(M) District Secretary B Madhava said the party wants a total ban on the two practices at Kukke Subrahamanya Temple and Udupi Krishna Temple respectively. He also dubbed the practices as casteist.

Pointing out the oft repeated slogan of Sangh Parivar and VHP that all Hindus are one, the CPI(M) leader said the Pejawar seer should take the initiative and end this caste discrimination. He said both Made Snana and Ede Snana are unacceptable.

Stating that the Swamiji was well respected leader in the society and his  suggestions have weightage, Madhava said his(Pejawar seer’s)  participation in the movement against Made Snana and Pankthi Bedha would give an impetus to the movement.
