Mangalore, Aug 16, 2012: Canara High School-CBSE celebrated Independence Day in the school premises on Aug 15, Wednesday.
Hon correspondent Kochikar Sudhakar Pai unfurled the national flag. Children sang the national anthem followed by the glorious flag song. The students also sang the patriotic songs which brought about a sense of patriotism and love towards the country.
Later the certificates were distributed to prize winners of various competitions. A spectacular dance depicting various elements of patriotism was the highlight of the day.
Ramesh Kedilaya, Advisor of the school spoke about oneness among the students of Canara School. He also said that in spite of diversity in religion, culture, language, there is unity. He said it was important to feel the zeal of patriotism for the country.
The programme was compered by students Gayathri and Swathi Baliga. The programme in -charge was Mrs. Shubhada, Hindi Teacher and Mrs. Pratima Kulal were the programme incharge of the programme. Large number of PTA members and parents attended the programme.
