Case booked against Muslim central committee chief

Muslim Central Committee ChiefMangalore, Feb 6, 2012: The Mangalore North police have registered a case against the president of Muslim Central Committee Mohammed Masood on Saturday. He has been accused of making provocative statements at a press conference while demanding the arrest of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

On Friday night, advocate Jagadish S. filed a complaint stating that Mr. Masood had misrepresented the speech of Mr. Bhat in Uppinangady on January 22 .


Mr. Jagadish accused Mr. Masood of twisting the statements of Mr. Bhat and disturbing the peace of the region.


The police have registered a case under Section 153 (a) (promoting enmity between classes) and 505 (2) (statements creating or promoting enmity) of the Indian Penal Code.

A case has already been registered against Mr. Bhat in Uppinangady.
