Central market merchants shift to Baikampady APMC yard

Mangaluru, April 08, 2020:  Finally, the  fruits and vegetable merchants at the  Central Market in Mangaluru have shifted to the APMC Yard at Baikampady  as per the instructions of the Mangaluru City Corporation. The merchants here have since long  shown little interest in shifting to Baikampady as it is quite far off compared to the Central Market which is in the heart of the city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is also a fact that the Central Market is in a chaotic condition  lacking several facilities. However, members of the general public are unlikely to travel all the way to Baikampady to procure  fruits and vegetables, particularly in case of   purchase of small quantity of products.

The Mangaluru City Corporation intends to demolish the present building and  construct a full-fledged  Central Market complex.
