City girl Ciel Merlyn Monteiro wins first place in state-level spell bee competition

Mangaluru, July 23, 2024: Ciel Merlyn Monteiro, a class 9 student at Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, has achieved first place in the 2023-24 state-level grand finale of India’s No. 1 Spell Bee, the WIZ National Spell Bee competition.

Ciel is the daughter of Walter Monteiro from Bajpe Karambara and Kiran Shirley D’Souza.
