Clock Tower work set to start within a week

Mangaluru, Jan 31 2018: Civil works on rebuilding the clock tower at Hampankatta demolished two decades ago here will begin within a week, according to Mayor Kavita Sanil.

She told media that contract for the project has been awarded. It would be re-constructed under the Smart City Mission. The Mayor said that it was her dream project.

Most younger citizens express that this cpould be a supeflous monument at the given estimates.  Further, unlike years ago,

most people today have watches and mobiles to seek the time. The ornamental tower is in some ways a waste.
