Coastal MPs meet Union Agriculture Minister; apprise him of areca growers’ woes

Mangaluru, November 28, 2024: Parliamentarians from coastal Karnataka including Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary met Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Shivaraj Singh Chauhan at Krishi Bhavan in New Delhi and apprised the latter of the problems facing areca growers of the state.

The Minister said he would be visiting Sagar in Shivamogga district on December 6 to participate in the areca growers’ convention and assured that the Union Government was committed to help the areca growers.

The delegation of MPs was led by Shivamogga MP Raghavendra and also included Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and others.
