Congress picks Inayat Ali for Mangaluru North

Mangaluru, April 20, 2023: According to Congress party sources, the Party’s candidate for the Mangaluru North constituency in the upcoming state assembly elections has been confirmed as Inayat Ali.

 

Inayat Ali and former MLA Moidin Bawa were vying for the coveted ticket for the Mangaluru North Constituency. B. A. Moideen Bava was defeated by BJPʼs Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty in the 2018 election. Congress finally chose one of the promising leaders of this generation Inayat Ali Mulki.

Inayat Ali started his political career as a grass-root level worker, taking up the responsibility as the NSUI president for the Mulki block of Dakshina Kannada district. He then continued to serve the Congress party as National NSUI general secretary and as the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee general secretary, working under the guidance of the late Oscar Fernandes, Mukul Wasnik, Ashok Gehlot and Rahul Gandhi.
