Congress sends hore kanike to Darga

Mangalore, Apr 22: The DK Congress and the Gokarnanatha Temple of Kudroli sent a "hore kanike" (loads of commodities) to the Sayyad Madani Darga, which is currently celebrating the Uroos. 

A total of 14 trucks, tempos, pick ups, and other vehicles approached the Darga loaded with sacks of rice, vegetables, ghee, jaggery, dry fruits, fruits, and much more. Senior Congress leader Mr. B Janardhana Poojary accompanied by Mr. B Ramanath Rai, the president of the district Congress; Mr. Shashidhar Hegde, the former mayor; Mr. K S M Masood, Mr. Badruddin, and others. 

Mr. Poojary said that, by sending the hore kanike, the Congress was expressing its reverence for the holy place, adding that Ullal Darga is the holiest place in Mangalore. 

The authorities of the Darga has received the hore kanike and expressed gratitude toward Mr. Janardhan Poojary and the Congress party for their gesture of goodwill.
