Constable suspended for tipping off accused regarding police raid

Mangaluru, May 23, 2023: Special Branch Constable Vasudev Chauhan who is attached to Ullal police station has been suspended by the City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain for colluding with some people accused of gambling.

 

Some time back a police team had nabbed a gang involved in gambling at Talapady border. It was alleged that Vasudev who knew about this operation had reportedly intimated the gamblers well in advance regarding the raid.

During the raid, a member of Talapady Gram Panchayat who is the main accused in the case had escaped. Later when police arrested the accused, it came to light that the constable had intimated them regarding the raid.

Following information, the constable has been suspended pending investigation.
