DC allows e-autos, methanol, ethanol based autos to operate across district

Mangaluru, August 7, 2024: In a significant move, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan  has in a circular allowed electric, methanol and ethanol based autorickshaws to operate across the district without any restriction.

Earlier circulars issued on November 24, 2022 and January 23, 2023 making it mandatory for the electric, methanol and ethanol based autos to obtain zone-wise identification stickers and numbers from the Police Department, now stands cancelled as per the new directive.

Now these auto drivers need not obtain stickers and numbers and can operate in all taluks. The RTO has been asked to ensure implementation of the guidelines and the Police Department has also been told to put up sign boards. The local administrations have also been asked to identify parking areas for the autos.
