DYFI activists stage protest against Police Commissioner

Mangaluru, November 29, 2024: DYFI activists staged a Rasta Roko agitation near the Rao and Rao Circle in the city on Thursday demanding transfer of City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal over the issue of filing an FIR on DYFI leader Muneer Katipalla in connection with the recent protest at Kulur to highlight the highway woes.

 

The police had filed an FIR against Muneer and other activists stating that the protest was staged despite denial of permission.

During Thursday’s protest at Rao and Rao circle, protestors shouted slogans against the police commissioner. The police who rushed to the spot, detained the protestors. In the confusion that prevailed ASI Muttappa suffered injuries and was taken to hospital in a police vehicle.
