Daylight burglary in Moodidri; thieves gag girl, render her unconscious

Moodbidri, February 17, 2025: Thieves who broke into a house at Aliyoor Nelade of Moodbidri taluk during broad daylight on February 16, have decamped with jewellery worth Rs 3.5 lakhs after gagging the daughter of the house owner and rendering her unconscious using a spray.

The theft took place in the house of Prashanth Jain, a cook by profession. Prashanth and his son had gone for work at Mulki while his wife had gone to Shirthady. The couple’s daughter was at home when the robbery took place at around 10.30 am. The incident came to light when a neighbor visited the house.

Senior police officials have visited the spot.
