Daylight burglary in Neriya: Thieves escape with gold worth Rs 3.12 lakh

Belthangady, February 21, 2025: In a shocking daylight burglary, unidentified thieves broke into a house in Akkole, Neriya village, stole gold ornaments worth Rs 3.12 lakh on February 19. The incident occurred at the residence of Fatimath Ranjin, where the burglars managed to unlock a cupboard’s locker and escape with 52 grams of gold jewelry.

According to reports, Fatimath Ranjin had left the front door open while working in the kitchen. Around 9:30 AM, she entered her room to find the cupboard door open and clothes scattered across the floor. Upon further inspection, she realized that her gold ornaments were missing.

She promptly reported the theft to Dharmasthala Police Station, and an investigation is underway. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in the area.
