Digital arrest case: Accused arrested

Mulki, November 25, 2024: Mulki police have arrested a man of Kerala origin for cheating a person from Aikala village of lakhs of rupees through digital arrest tactic.

The arrested man is Junaith (26) of Alaphuzza. He has been accused of cheating Ashique of Rs 2,19,972 by transferring the amount from the latter’s bank account after securing his account details through digital arrest means by making him believe that the case would be investigated by Crime Branch of Mumabi as the parcel sent through a Fedex company had drugs and other contraband.

The investigation was undertaken following a complaint lodged by the victim in Mulki police station in May this year.
