Dist. Congress to hold Yuvajana Bhavaikya Samavesh on Jan 12

Mangalore, Jan 11, 2012 : The District Congress Committee would be organizing a Yuvajana Bhavaikya Samavesh at Milagres Hall  on January 12  to mark the  150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.


Informing this to reporters here on January 10, Thursday, DCC Chief B Ramanatha Rai said the Union Government has chalked out various programmes to popularize and disseminate the messages, ideals, thoughts and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary.

A national level committee has also been formed under the presidentship of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to chalk out year long programmes, he said.


He said thousands of youth will participate in the convention to be held in Mangalore. The Bhavaikya Jatha will be inaugurated at 9.30 am by former minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari at 9.30 am. The convention will be inaugurated by Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha Member.


A seminar to be held as part of the conference will be participated by noted scholar and former MLC Ijazuddin and Prof. Nityananda Shetty, Associate Professor of Tumkur University.


A variety of cultural programmes will also be presented by students.


AICC Member PV Mohan, KPCC Secretary GA Bava, Swami Vivekananda 150th birth anniversary celebrations committee general secretary JR Lobo, District Congress Spokesperson TK Sudhir and Mahila Congress President Mamatha Gatti were also present.
