District police take steps to strengthen security during festive season

Mangalore, Aug 29, 2011 : The district police have beefed up security in DK to main peace and security during the celebrations of Eid ul Fitr and Ganesh Chathurti. Additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain security in the district.

 

 

Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Labu Ram have assured the public that they need not panic. They have also urged Hindus and Muslims to observe their respective festivals in peace.

The police have already conducted meetings of leaders of various religious communities to discuss security issues during the celebration of these festivals.

Mr. Singh said that the police have held peace meetings in all police stations under the jurisdiction of the commissionerate. Besides, KSRP, Home Guards, DAR platoons have also been deployed to maintain security during this festive season.
