Dr. Mithra N. Hegde appointed as president’s personal dentist

August 28: Mithra Nidarsh Hegde, the senior professor and head of the department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at A. B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, has become Karnataka’s first dental surgeon to the appointed as the president’s personal dentist.

A press release has disclosed that the doctor received a call from Rashtrapathi Bhavan in June. Dr. Mithra and her husband Dr. Nidarsh, who is also a dentist and Home Guards Commandant, met the president on Independence Day at high tea. She also went to Rashtrapathi Bhavan on Aug 17 and treated the president.

Dr. Mithra has been teaching students of Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Surgery for 19 years.
