Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti conferred on Dr Vidyabhushana

Kota, Oct 11, 2023: The contributions of late Dr Kota Shivaram Karanth to the fields of art, literatue, culture, Yakshagana and environmental awareness are unparalleled. His achievements will forever be a guiding light to the society, said State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot.

 

He was speaking after conferring Dr Kota Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti on renowned singer Dr Vidyabhushana at a function held at Kota on October 10 under the aegis of Kotatatttu Gram Panchayat, Dr Shivaram Karanth Trust, Udupi and Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti Pratishtana, Kota.

On this occasion, the governor inaugurated Impana -2023 organised to mark the 121st birth anniversary of Dr Karanth. He presented Shivaram Karanth Award to ten gram panchayats of undivided Dakshina Kannada district for their overall achievement. Uliyabettu, Puttige, Ammunje, Uppinangady, Savanoor, Belanje, Markana, Kera, Belma and 80 Badagubettu villages received the award.

Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi presided over the function. MLAs Gururaj Gantihole, Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary and others were present.
