ED raid exposes corruption in Karnataka Govt: MP Brijesh Chowta

Mangaluru, October 19, 2024: The recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office has exposed the "true colours of the corrupt Congress-led Karnataka government," said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta on Saturday.

Chowta accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of evading responsibility, despite being a key figure in the scam. He claimed that state agencies were acting under the CM’s influence, preventing a transparent investigation. The MP questioned Siddaramaiah’s motives, asking why the CM returned the land if he was innocent and why he is avoiding the investigation.

Chowta further criticized the Congress for labeling investigations as politically motivated to deflect public scrutiny. He alleged that the government has used its power to target BJP workers, while covering up its own corruption. He warned that the ongoing ED investigation will soon reveal the Congress government’s alleged wrongdoings.

Chowta highlighted the scale of the MUDA land scam, pegged at ₹5,000 crore, and called it a major issue draining the state’s resources. He emphasized that the BJP’s fight against corruption will continue until those responsible are brought to justice.
