Electoral Quiz Competition organised at Nitte

Mangaluru, April 21, 2022: The Electoral Literacy Club and Department of Humanities in association with the NSS Unit of the Nitte Deemed to be University conducted the Electoral Quiz Competition on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, focusing on the policy and reforms of the electoral System in Indian Democracy. The Vice Chancellor of Nitte DU, Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, inaugurated the program and stressed on the importance of knowledge on the topic at hand with his words of wisdom.

 

This initiative of the University to spread awareness among its students received a tremendous response with 13 teams from its constituent institutes participating in the program. Dr. Satheesh Rao, Professor- Psychiatry and a political enthusiast himself, piloted  the quiz in both rounds of the competition. The preliminary round was a written test which then qualified 6 teams to the final round of the quiz.
 
On completing the 6 rounds of question and answers of varied themes, the team from BSc. Medical Imaging Technology, Kavana, Aysha Eshana and Asiyam Aifa,  bagged the first prize.  R Urmila, Asif M A, Nussaibah from BSc. Respiratory Therapy emerged as runner ups. Sruthy Merin, Sruthy Satheesh, Simi Prince(NUINS) and Medha, Shravya T S, Murali Madhava ( Bsc. Anaesthesia & OTT)  earned the honourable mention for their participation.
