Mangaluru, August 18, 2018: Many progressive secular organizations devoted to the cause of development of scientific temper all over India have decided to observe 20th August as the National Scientific Temper Day. On this day in 2013 Dr. Narendra Dhabolkar, the President of Maharashtra Andha Shraddha Nirmulan Samiti was martyred for the cause- killed by assassins who have not been arrested as yet.
In this connection Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations and Aid Without religion Trust in collaboration with other progressive secular organizations are conducting the program at Mangalore at Karnataka Bank Employees Association Auditorium on the 20th August from 5 to 7 pm. The programs will be devoted to the development of scientific temper and to remember the achievements of Dr. Narendra Dhabolkar
A release from the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations said, there will be a recall of the work and times of Dr. Narendra Dhabolkar on the occasion. Dr. P. V. Bhandary, Psychiatrist and Director Dr. A.V.Baliga Hospital, Udupi will give a lecture on lack of scientific temper leading to mental illness and a demonstration with videos on current trends in Non science by Prof. Narendra Nayak, President, Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations.
