Fire partially destroys house near Urva Marigudi

Mangalore, June 7, 2014 : A house located  near Urva Marigudi in the city was partially gutted in a fire mishap on June 6, Friday  evening. The house belonged to Ganesh.

The fire was first noticed by nearby taxi  drivers at around 7.30 and soon the fire service personnel was informed. The  fire service men, locals, teaxi drivers and the Barke police struggled for over an hour to put out the fire. However, by then almost half of the house was gutted.

It has been learnt that several valuables including gold cash  kept in the almirah, TV and other equipment  have been destroyed. The loss has been estimated at over Rs 2 lakhs.
