First luxurious tourist liner service between Mangalore and Lakshadweep from Nov 6

Mangalore, November 4: The Lakshadweep Islands Tourism Development Authority will launch a luxurious tourist liner service between Lakshadweep and Mangalore from Nov 6. The first passenger ship to leave Mangalore for Kadmatt Island MV Aminidevi will carry 150 tourists, and the inaugural trip is meant to be a Diwali gift.

Rasheed Bolar, the coordinator of the Lakshadweep Island Tourism Development Authority, said that the event will be called “1799 – 2010, a Karnataka gateway to Lakshadweep.” Kadmatt, which is close to Mangalore, is a paradise of water sports such as kayaking, snorkeling, diving, cruising, along with a wide variety of other tourist attractions, he informed. The trip, which lasts less than 14 hours, will cost Rs. 5000 per person, he added.


The only ship journeying between Kadmatt Island and Mangalore at present is a cargo vessel called Tippu Sultan.
