Fisherman who suffered burn injuries inside boat, dies in hospital

Malpe, September 28, 2024: A fisherman who had suffered serious injuries after he fell over a pan of hot oil while working in a boat, has succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased is Naveen Govind (23) of Ankola. The mishap had occurred on August 5 when he was working in the Sheshadri boat owned by Dharmendra of Malpe. Naveen was involved in cooking works inside the boat when the boat shook violently due to a huge tidal wave. Naveen lost balance and fell over the pan filled with hot oil.

A critically injured Naveen was later rushed to the hospital. However he succumbed to the burn injuries on the night of September 26.
