Fishing boat catches fire mid-sea; all 10 fishermen safe

Mangaluru, August 5, 2024: A fishing boat that had ventured into deep sea fishing from the Mangaluru port has caught fire mid-sea during the wee hours of Monday. The ten fishermen on board the ill-fated boat were rescued by crew from another boat.

The boat that caught fire belonged to Hussain and was named Safavi. The boat had ventured into fishing on Sunday morning and capsized after catching fire around 88 nautical miles away from the port.
