Fishing boat from Gangolli capsizes off Karwar coast

Kundapur, January 15, 2025: A fishing boat owned by a person from Gangolli capsized in the sea off the Karwar coast resulting in loss to the tune of several lakhs of rupees.

The boat reportedly collided with an unknown object in the sea resulting in the mishap on the night of January 12. Gangolli’s Momin Najima owned this boat named Sea Hunter.

As water began to enter the boat and it began to sink, fishermen from other boats came to the rescue of the fishermen on board the sinking boat.

No one was injured in the mishap. The loss has been estimated at Rs 70 lakhs.
