Mangaluru, September 8, 2024: The 77th annual public Ganeshotshava organized by the Keshav Smriti Samvardhana Samithi at Sanganiketan in the city began with the installation of Shri Mahaganapati Statue and the formal opening of the festival on Saturday, September 7.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. T.V. Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Manipal Global Education.

Following this, flag hoisting, the singing of Vande Mataram, a Ganahoma ritual, a drawing competition for children, and a public program took place. In the afternoon, a grand puja was performed, and in the evening, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. The committee has planned special programs for five days, expecting thousands of devotees to participate.

On this occasion, Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta, Mangalore North MLA Bharat Shetty, Mangalore South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Sudhir Shetty, Committee President Praveen Kumar, Vinod Shenoy, Raghuveer Kamath, Satish Prabhu, Anand Pangala, K.P. Tailor, Suresh Kamath, Swami Prasad, Y.S.R. Kudva, Jeevanraj Shenoy, Abhishek Bhandari, Nandan Mallya, Poornima Shenoy and hundreds of volunteers were present.


The program will conclude on September 11th with a Ganesha idol procession from Sanghaniketana through the city, ending with the immersion at Mahamaya Temple.
