Mangalore, June 30: Work on clearing the debris of the ill-fated Air India Dubai - Mangalore flight that crashed in Kenjar Valley on May 22 commenced on the afternoon of June 29, Tuesday. Fiza Group has bagged the tender for this work.
The debris is being shifted to a spot close the airport near Kenjar. The work, which is being done with labourers and cranes, is expected to be completed in a couple of weeks.
Engineer of Fiza Group A. S.Balakrishna Naidu said that the workers have been provided hand gloves, helmets, masks, and shoes to protect them from infectious diseases during the clearance work.
The work is being supervised by N. J. Rao, the chief of security in Air India, and three other engineers.
