Forest Department worker on night duty, collapses to death

Bantwal, November 30, 2024: A Forest Department employee collapsed to death inside the office while on night duty at BC Road on November 29, Friday night.

The deceased is Jayaram Moolya (47) of Veerakambha. He has been working for the Forest Department as a daily wage employee since 30 years.

On November 27, he was on night duty and had informed his colleagues that he was experiencing dizziness.

As he was later alone on duty at night, he had locked the door from inside and had gone to sleep but reportedly collapsed over the table and died.

The Forest Department driver who arrived in the morning on finding the door locked from inside, looked through the window and found Jayaram lying as if he had collapsed on the table. He broke the lock and went inside. However Jayaram had breathed his last. It is suspected he died of cardiac arrest.
