Forest officer arrested on charges of abusing women of a community; released on bail

Sullia, October 19, 2024: Panja zone’s Deputy Range Forest Officer Sanjeeva Poojary Kaniyoor who has been charged with abusing women of a particular community was arrested by the Bellare police on Friday. He was later produced before a court in Sullia which granted him conditional bail.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Koti Chennaya Yuva Shakti Aliyoor and Billawa Samudaya Seva Sangha Shirtadhady had lodged complaints alleging that the forest officer was abusing Billawa women and had sought his suspension.
