Four arrested for assaulting Mangaluru youth near Bisile Ghat

Sullia, June 26, 2024: Police have arrested four persons on the charges of assaulting a group of youngsters from Mangaluru at the Patla Betta tourist spot near Bisile Ghat in Subrahmanya.

The incident had taken place on June 23. A group of youth from Mangaluru  had visited Patla Betta and were returning when they were  stopped by some local drivers who abused them and even tried to extort money from them.

Following a complaint lodged by one of the aggrieved youth, Yeslur police arrested Nishanth, Madan, Kiran and Gagan.

The video of the assault had also gone viral.

Meanwhile, locals in Subrahmanya met Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar who had visited Subrahmanya on  Tuesday and submitted a memorandum seeking protection for tourists at tourist destinations.
