Four of a family brutally murdered in Udupi

Udupi, Nov 12, 2023: In a horrifying and alarming event, four individuals, including three children from the same family, were discovered brutally murdered at Tripti Layout in Nejar of Udupi on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Hasina (46) and her children: Afnan (23), Ayanz (21), and Aseem (14). Hasina’s mother-in-law, Hajira (70), was also stabbed and seriously injured by the assailant. Her condition is said to be stable now.

The tragic incident unfolded on the morning of Sunday, November 12, between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, sending shockwaves throughout the community. The husband of the deceased woman is reported to be working in a Gulf country.

Speaking to the media, Shyam Auto driver stated, "Between 8:30 am and 9 am on Sunday, an individual on a two-wheeler hailed my rickshaw on Queen’s Road. He directed me to take him to Tripti Layout in Nejaru. Accordingly, I dropped him off at the gate of the house where the murder occurred." Describing the man as around 45 years old, Shyam noted that he spoke Kannada, wore a mask, and only his eyes were visible. The bald-headed man had a white complexion.

Superintendent of Police Dr K Arun said that four were murdered by stabbing. An investigation is in progress to ascertain the cause of the murders. No valuables have been stolen from the house. The investigation will be carried out from all angles.
