Freak mishap while replacing punctured tyre; Man critically injured

Puttur, July 23, 2024: A person who was replacing the punctured tyre of a lorry sustained serious injuries after the disc of the tyre came off suddenly along with the tyre. The impact of this was such that the person fell off and landed in a nearby compound. The incident took place near the Parladka Golikatte mosque in Parladka on Monday night.

The injured person is Rasheed of Karaya in Belthangady taluk. The stone transportation truck belonging to Rasheed’s brother-in-law was parked near the Golikatte mosque after its tyre got punctured.

The tyre was repaired and brought and the mishap took place when they were fixing it. Rasheed who was seriously injured was rushed to a hospital in Puttur and from there to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The incident has been caught on CCTV camera.
